Elliott was later joined by his wife Elizabeth and the firm of Johnston practiced throughout the 1950s until Elizabeth took up a role at the Crown Law Office. They both had extensive backgrounds in Union organizations. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s the steady grew through its employment, workers compensation and personal injury labor and was closely involved with considerable Unions and the Union movement generally. It also extended its work into criminal and family law. The firm evolved and expanded throughout the 1980s and 1990s under the stewardship of Brian Withers. During this time Johnston Withers broadened its services to incorporate a commercial and property section including conveyancing, wills and estates and defamation. It also developed potent relationships with Aboriginal communities in pursuing native title and land rights claims. Hugh’s started his legal life in the country practicing in the Riverland for 18 years prior joining Johnston Withers in 2005. It is work that she loves and given that many of her fresh clients are referred by her preceding clients it is work at which she obviously excels. Emma’s other two areas of practice are family law and criminal law. Patrick then worked in commercial litigation at an Adelaide law firm prior moving to Johnston Withers. There she managed a team of lawyers and represented a range of business clients across a broad industry base assisting with commercial transactions, commercial contradict resolution and property law matters. She also found time to complete a Master of Laws, with a focus on commercial law issues. Now back in her home state of South Australia, Kristy has recently joined Johnston Withers’ growing Commercial and Property team where again she works with businesses of all sizes. Highly experienced, practical and approachable, Kristy is committed to achieving sensible, commercial and punctual outcomes for her clients. Kate holds a Diploma in Legal Services and is an experienced Paralegal assisting with the management of matters within our commercial and commercial litigation teams. She has supported her clients through the stuffed range of legal issues that a country practice brings special in areas of wills, estates, property law, agribusiness and commercial law. Danielle funk is a South Australian lawyer in Johnston Withers’ Clare office where she practices in family law and criminal law and regularly provides advice on a wide range of agrilaw issues. She revels in the quality of life the district offers and plays an energetic role in her community including as a member of the local chapter of Women in Business. After experience in our Adelaide and Clare offices, Alex is now based in Port Augusta where he handles a variety of matters including criminal law, family law, commercial law, property law, employment matters, personal injuries, and wills and estates.
